FIRE (Finding Innovation in Rural Education) Summit – Pikeville, KY

You are invited to attend the FIRE (Finding Innovation in Rural Education) Summit April 12, 2017 at the East KY Expo Center in Pikeville, KY in person or via live telecast. The Summit showcases learning innovations taking place across the east Kentucky region as a direct result of the Race to the Top-District Grant awarded to Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (KVEC) and 17 outstanding rural school districts, supporting the Appalachian Renaissance Initiative. Over 125 teachers will present their exciting classroom innovations in learning to the several hundred persons gathered and to an estimated 10,000 viewers who will watch the event broadcast live around the world at www.theholler.org. Thus, if you cannot attend in person you can view the live telecasts.
The Fire Summit (Formerly called the Action Research Summit) showcases the amazing work of our students and teachers. The three Tiny Houses designed and constructed by the students will be present for the beginning of the on-line auction. Student winners in coding, Open Box App Design Challenge, will be honored.
