It is with profound sadness that the Rural Policy Research Institute (RUPRI) shares the news that Keith Mueller, one of the nation’s most respected and influential leaders in rural health research and policy, passed away September 26, 2026 following a brief illness. Keith was a founding member of the RUPRI Health Panel over three decades ago, Director of the RUPRI Center for Rural Health Policy Analysis and assumed the role of RUPRI Director in 2016.
